Your time is valuable, so let me get right to the point. You want to
know why you should join:
- With membership you get a page on our web
site to tell people about your business.
- Your page is linked to your website and your e-mail address.
- Your business will be listed in our upcoming “Community Guide”.
That’s a significant amount of advertising for a small membership
fee. But there is more:
- SoBBA is the business voice of SoBRO.
- When the city wants information from this area, SoBBA is the association
to whom they turn.
- When the city needs to tell us about things that will affect our area,
SoBBA is the association to whom they turn.
- SoBBA is a member of the CoAlliance of Business Associations. Unlike
a Chamber of Commerce, the CoAlliance speaks for the small businesses
of the county, thousands of them, and the city listens.
Obviously the SoBro area (South of Broadway) has problems and we want
the city to listen to us:
- The problems of the area are not small and the solutions will not
be ordinary. We need your ideas.
- Change will require the efforts of many individuals and businesses.
We need you help.
- The larger the organization, the larger the voice. We need for you
to add your voice.
If you want a voice, you need to join the organization that gives you
a voice. And speaking of a voice:
- Metro Government has identified many areas of the city as needing
a major planning effort to guide their redevelopment. SoBro is one of
these areas.
- Dozens of neighborhoods are asking to be included in the planning
efforts, but only a very small number of plans can be developed each
year. SoBBA was a major force in convincing the new Metro Government
to include us in the first round of plans.
- SoBBA is your voice in this planning effort, but only if you are a
member.
